"Why are you here?" Sanjana asked turning her face from the television to the door, with eyes full of amusement. Which clearly states that she know something.
Parinidhi glared at her, seeing her expression, she removed her high heels and threw them at her sister one by one who dodged it away perfectly. She started walking towards the kitchen to drink some water.
"Mam, The lunch is ready for you" Parinidhi rolled her eyes and looked at Jaya who is as usual in her apron and with a teasing smile on her face. She shook her head and started drinking the water
"Whattt? She didn't eat outside. Didn't you say that you are going to return at night?" Sanjana asked dramatically. Parinidhi closed the door of the fridge with a 'thud' and looked at the both girls.
"I changed my mind. Do I have to take permission from you to come to my own house now?" She said while raising her eyebrow. Both the girls raised their hands in surrender seeing her glare.
"What are YOU doing? Don't you have a job to do?" She asked folding her hands. Sanjana Shrugged her shoulders saying "I applied for leave till weekend to spend time with dad. Just like you"
Hearing her Parinidhi nodded with a blank face and started walking towards her room. Even without a blood relation Sanjana loves her father just like her, it always amuses her like just how they became a perfect family.
She never admits it but she is glad to have a sister like Sanjana and friends like Jaya and Rohit. They complete her little world in their own way.
As she was about to climb the stairs, she stopped in her tracks hearing
'Who is she?"
"It's Parinidhi Gupta"
"Yeah?"
"'Is she the Mean, Arrogant, self-centered who has a sharp tongue and think of herself as the queen of the entire universe -
Parinidhi snapped her head towards the source to see Sanjana standing in the hall while dancing slowly with raised hand which is holding the mobile phone where the video of the recent incident playing.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT"
She screamed taking heavy steps towards Sanjana who quickly increased the volume and ran around making Parinidhi run behind her. Does her sister have to make her regret thinking that she is glad to have her?
"Give me the phone!!" She demanded placing her hands on her hips while her eyes are busy glaring at the later who is grinned at her.
"I can't believe that someone has forgotten your overly self obsessed ass. I'm damn sure you are having a hard time digesting the fact ." Sanjana laughed holding her stomach only to get slapped by a pillow on the face.
"Give. Me. The. Phone. Now!" Parinidhi ordered only to hear the laugh coming from the kitchen. She turned to see Jaya laughing which literally made her whole face red.
"Trust- trust me, this is the first time I'm seeing Parinidhi Gupta loosing her cool, that too, twice over a man" Jaya said between her laugh making Sanjana agree with her.
Parinidhi looked at the entrance where stood the person who is the sole reason for this.
"Rohit" Her voice was calm. Rohit who heard her call flinched a little but came inside and stood infront of her with a blank face.
"What the hell was that?" She asked while breathing heavily glaring at him. Rohit without any emotion despite his body shivering seeing her glare replied "Video"
"I can see that!" Parinidhi said frustratedly.
"Mam, I followed your idea. It was easy this way, for me to explain and for them to understand" He replied gulping. The room became silent.
Everyone is waiting for Parinidhi to say her famous 'You are fired' words but what she said made their eyes widened
"Okay." She said making her way towards her room leaving the people in the hall full of suspicious and curious.
Okay? Just okay? They frowned looking at each other. It's been only 2 days she met Rudransh and they got to see her doing a lot of not-so-like-Parinidhi acts.
She changed into her pajamas and sat on her bed. She looked at the food present on the table and started eating. She had to call Jaya to make some food for her, of course she can't go and eat infront of them after her dramatic wink and walk right? It will ruin the show. So she had to directly go to her car with a growling stomach.
Damn grey eyes!!
But he was looking so good today in his casual. Just a white t-shirt and blue jeans. His hair falling on his forehead. The way they both made eye contact again made her shiver.
Her thoughts broke hearing the ringing of her phone. She small smile formed on her lips. The same phone which Rohit has bought yesterday. She would have left it but this is the phone her father had gifted 4 years ago on her birthday.
It's is outdated and old but it is precious to her. Her father always tried to give her the best and she always made sure to tell him that he gave her the best, even if it is an old model of I phone.
"Calling in the middle of your work? Not bad Rakesh Gupta" Hearing her Her father laughed.
Her smile widened. "What can I do? I'm missing my Pari a lot" Parinidhi pressed her lips in a thin line.
"And who's fault is that?" She asked making her father chuckle "My boss's" Parinidhi rolled her eyes.
"I heard that you worked extra shifts yesterday" she asked only to hear silence. "Dad" Rakesh cleared his throat and answered
"Actually my colleague was sick and asked me to cover up for him. Just for a day. That's it" Hearing him her grip on the phone tightened. She could hear how nervous he is.
"Really? Just one day? That stupid colleague of yours has asked you many times. This is not the first time." She said.
Her father is so innocent and trust everyone. She always made sure to alert him but he is very kind and cannot say a straight 'no' to anyone. There where times when his closest of friends betrayed him by borrowing money and escaping.
Even after experiencing all this, he is still the same. Who helps and trusts everyone. She always tell him that this world is not for the good people. People find sick pleasure in playing with innocent ones lying to them, betraying them, playing with their feelings. But he never listens.
But his reply always left her speechless
"I want to be the reason you believe in the existence of the good people in this world, even If I'm the only example you get!
I know you are mature and have seen the world filled with the people full of hate, jealousy, power and greed and that's the reason I want to be good to show my daughter that the world doesn't end with what she sees everyday.
but I want you to know that there are still some people exists who are kind and good. I don't want to leave any chance to show my daughter that there is a life beyond evil."
She sighed remembering it. He always made sure to remind her that there is an another side of the existing world, not only the one she is aware off.
He is the world's best father. No doubt.
"Please, Don't overwork dad. This is the last time and I'm not going to tolerate if you do it again" she warned him only to hear him chuckle.
"Yes Mam" Parinidhi smiled at her father. Talking for some time she said goodbye and hang up.
Taking the bottle from the table she gulped down the water but flinched when the door of her bedroom burst opened.
There stood Sanjana and Jaya with horrified expression making her furrowed her eyebrows. Sanjana switched on the television, took the remote and changed the channel into a news one.
That's it her eyes widened and she choked on water hard seeing the news. The pic of Rudransh and hers from the funeral where he held her waist and from the restaurant where they are having an intense eye contact and their faces where so close like they are about to kiss where displayed on the screen.
"These are the pictures clicked by the paparazzi which are circling all over the internet. Many people are curious about their relationship. Seeing their pictures anyone can say that they are dating. But still we cannot say anything until we get conformation from them. But Rudransh Singh Rathore and Parinidhi Gupta make really a nice pair."
