"Dadu, please I want mumma" The small boy cried banging the closed door in hope that someone would open the door. The banging continued hard and the sound of cries echoed in the corridor.

"Mummaaa" The boy sobbed but suddenly screamed when she sensed something crawling on his feet. There is no light and no one.

He is just alone in the dark room.

His screams intensified and the tears had no stop. The thing which crawled on his feet turned out to be a rat. The small boy again sensed the movement but now on his hand.

"Dadu.. please forgive me. I'll do whatever you say." The boy sobbed harder banging the door with his tiny fist using all his strength.

"Dadu Ahhh.."

Rudransh jolted up from his sleep breathing heavily. He blinked his eyes while sitting straight on the couch. He looked around, to realize he is still in his jet.

He looked outside to see the white clouds. The sun is about to set which gave a perfect evening scenery.

"Bhai, Rajveer Singh Rathore passed away"

Pratik's words rang in his ears making him sigh. He looked at his watch to realize that he is going to land in mumbai in less than 45 minutes.

Soon he landed in the airport and as soon as he stepped out the camera flashes almost made him blind. He hates it.

He saw the car waiting for him and he slid himself in the backseat as soon as possible. His mind was in mess giving him headache.

"Drive as slow as possible." Driver frowned at his weird command, but didn't dare to question him. He knows better than to involve. As commanded the driver started to drive as slowly as possible.

Rudransh just wanted to sort out his mind. He need time as much as possible for it. Even Going slower than the fucking bicycle is not his concern. Meeting his family being a complete mess is last thing he would like do.

Rudransh knew stepping in india will only trigger him and he doesn't want to relive his bad memories again. After hearing the news of the old man's death, he didn't feel anything just numb. Seems like even the empathy and humanity left his body.

He knew and came to this conclusion years ago that he is not capable of feeling anything.

Much to his misfortune he reached the mansion sooner than he expected. Taking a deep breathe and preparing himself, he stepped out of the car. As soon as he did he was engulfed in a hug by his brother.

"Bhai" then here comes the younger one. "Atleast his death is useful in giving us the chance to be united again" Abhay mumbled only to receive a smack from Pratik.

"He is no more. We shouldn't talk like this about a family member" Pratik said narrowing his eyes at the younger.

"I was just saying the truth" Abhay frowned rubbing his head. Rudransh shook his head and started walking towards the mansion with his brothers trailing behind. There are many people around and in the mansion. The reporters outside the mansion.

So noisy and irritating.

"Bhai" Akriti shouted with a smile and ran towards him. She hugged him tight making Rudransh pat her head.

"How are you princess?" Before she can reply they heard snorting from the two men. "Really bhai? You didn't even say a 'hello' to us but she receives 'how are you princess?'"

Abhay mocked only to receive another smack but this time it's Rudransh. Abhay pouted which Rudransh ignored and turned towards Pratik and questioned.

"How is dadi?" Hearing it the atmosphere became gloomy Pratik sighed and replied "Resting. Her BP became low so doctors kept her on saline"

Rudransh nodded "and the body?" "Kept on the box till your arrival. The rituals will be started at early morning"

Nodding he started walking towards the nursing block which is at the back of the mansion. Opening the door, his gaze landed on the his dadi who is resting on the bed.

He sat beside her on the stool. He gulped and held her wrinkled hand. She more of a mother to him than a grandmother. After his parents death, she never left a chance to take care of him and his siblings.

His thumb caressed her skin softly while his mind busy in thinking deeply. Hours passed with him sitting and staring blankly with deep thoughts.

"Rudra?" He heard the whisper which made him come out of his trace. He snapped his head towards the figure lying on the bed. Veena sobbed and sat up tiringly. She cupped his face and looked at his features with a loving gaze.

It's been 4 years she saw him. Rudransh hugged her while patting her back in a comforting manner making her sob on his chest.

Rudransh have no idea why she have to waste her precious tears on a man like him, who never once treated her right at the top of it abused her physically and verbally. She endured everything all her life with a sweet smile on her face.

"Everything will be okay dadi. He doesn't deserve your tears. Not even one bit" He whispered making her sniff. Only they both have seen the monstrous side of the old man. The others knew only the bit which Rudransh wanted them to know. That's it.

Without him realizing, it's already early morning. The celebrities and the politicians started to arrive making them busy. Rudransh never tried to converse. He is mostly grumpy to most of the people. It was not his fault that he can't tolerate them more than 2 minutes.

"Mr. Rathore. Nice to meet you" A young man came towards him when he is standing in the hall at a corner minding his own business when he decided to poke his nose in it. Rudransh nodded at him not at all interested in the conversation and looked at all chaos going on outside to instruct the guards.

"I see you are not so fond of him. I can understand. I can also see you are bored" He started his conversation and asked.

"Why don't we discuss something interesting things like business So, I have an amazing proposal for yo- Before he can continue Rudransh straighten himself mumbling "In case you forgot, it's a funeral. I hope you know the consequences of disrespecting a Rathore"

As much as he hate his grandfather, he won't allow an outsider to disrespect a Rathore. Not at all. Everyone know how an asshole the old man was but no one dared to disrespect him not infront of Rudransh.

The man went red with embarrassment Rudransh looked at the guard and the guard doesn't need words to understand. He came forward and started to escort the man out.

The man grabbed the only opportunity to meet and have a deal with Rudransh Singh Rathore after not getting an appointment to meet him.

"Bhai. What are you doing here. Pratik bhai is asking for you. Come inside" Rudransh nodded at his sister and continued to instruct the guard to increase the security even at the back of the mansion, keep an eye on everyone and be in alert.

He was about to go when he saw his 'sister' taking to Swetha. He walked towards her and held her mumbling "Let's go inside Princess". He looked down and frowned when a smell hit his nose. Roses and chocolates. Then his eyes landed on Swetha who is looking at him in terror.

Before he can react the person turned around, her wavy hair tied in ponytail brushed on his chest and his curious grey eyes locked with the fiery brown ones.

Then he felt something which he thought would never feel. His heart skipped a beat.

She is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen or may be will ever see. Her fiery brown eyes, her sharp nose plump lips and high cheek bones.

She is Divine just like a Pari.

Unknowingly the grip tightened on the waist like a possessive grip.

"Mam, we need to go" This broke their trace and the woman hummed at the guard. She stepped back which made him remove his hand unwillingly.

"I'll be going" the soft voice reached his ears. He didn't miss the shakiness and the confidence in the voice.

His eyes never left her face, observing all her actions like a hawk. The way she her breathing was uneven, the way she walked with her head high and the way she fisted her top, everything.

Just like feeling the weight of his gaze she turned back and again he felt his heart skipping a beat making him clench his jaw. The looked at the car moving slowly and then disappearing.

But he still stood there looking the same direction and looked down at his hand which was on her waist. He flexed and fisted the palm missing the sensations.

He then saw the phone which was lying near his feet. He took it. It's not broken, just some miner cracks. "Oh..This must be Parinidhi's" Swetha mumbled.

"Parinidhi?"

"The girl you just umm... saw" gawked. She replied making with a smile.

Rudransh looked at the phone and the direction the car went. He has to see the woman again who proved his theory of not capable to feel things proved wrong.

He fear, he may not let go of her after that.

"Pari" the words escaped from his lips while his grip tightened on the phone and his grey eyes burned with pure madness.
